Today on our cruise, it was sea day. As this was also a working day, Chris and I spent much of the day “keeping the plates spinning” in our collective roles with our business. One of the benefits of traveling in The Retreat, is that you gain access to their lounge, on Reflection it is called “Michael’s Club” which offers a quieter space with light refreshments served throughout the day.
During the day, it was not uncommon for people to come in, grab a coffee or soda (or beer) and then head out. Each day, they offered an afternoon tea (with scones) which we were able to do today.
One way that we were able to get things done while at sea, was due to the Internet being included in our fare. We have two other cruises booked for 2025, and the second item that is paid for – after the fare – is the Internet. Compared to what was on offer ten years ago, nomads can even do cruise ships now.
Prior to heading to dinner, we stopped by the front (bow) of the ship to snap a sunset picture. With better planning, we should have been up on the Solstice Deck for this image, but we at least got this. After, we stopped at Luminae – The Retreat’s private restaurant – for dinner.

We were excited to see that our stateroom attendant had delivered a lovely early anniversary celebratory treat for us to enjoy prior to going to bed. We were able to gaze at the stars on our balcony for a short time prior to turning in for the night.
