Every now and then I get lost in YouTube. I don’t think it is intentional, but I’ll go look for something and hours later I’ll stagger out wondering where time went. I know we all go through this from time to time on various sites on the global Internet but YouTube is probably where I get lost most of the time.
For months now Chris and I have been watching Casey Neistat’s daily vLog, and love experiencing his very day movements alongside with him (albeit a day later). Casey decided to end his daily vLogging a couple of weeks ago (for great reasons), but he is still producing some phenomenal videos on the channel.
My big weakness seems to be music videos, but not just any music videos, acapella videos in particular. What I love about the YouTube world is that so many artists use it to get their music and talent out there, and they collaborate. Boy do they collaborate. And through those collaborations I get to meet more artists, and then spend more time wandering through YouTube land.
So I thought I would share some of my current favorite YouTube musical talent.
- Sam Tsui – https://m.youtube.com/user/TheSamTsui
Probably the original artist I started to follow. Great collaboration videos. - Peter Hollens – https://m.youtube.com/user/peterhollens
Great vocals and a great library of videos. He does some great duets, including a few with his wife. His tribute to his son’s birth is simply beautiful. - Mike Tompkins – https://m.youtube.com/user/pbpproductions
You may remember Mike as the producer of one of Hillary’s videos used during the campaign (first seen at the Democratic Convention), Fight Song. - Home Free – https://m.youtube.com/user/HomeFreeVocalBand
My newest find (through a Peter Hollens). Great sound and apparently a finalist in The Sing Off. Love their collaboration of Amazing Grace with Peter Hollens.
Enjoy, and see you in a few hours.
