Helping Our Four-Legged Pals

Thank the gods for organizations like the ASPCA and the Humane Society. They are getting into the areas hit by Hurricane Katrina and trying to save the pets of people who were left behind.

PetFinder.com is helping by setting up a very well organized information page outlining what is being done in parts of the states that were hit.

Now, I've said this before, I would not leave my pooches behind if put in that same situation – it just ain't gonna happen, but I can understand how some evacuees believed that they would be “back home” a day or two after the storm. I am so thankful that organizations are making this happen, and I hope that many animals can be saved due to their efforts
