Grad-U-Mation

Well after a number of years, I actually went for a walk across a stage wearing a blue gown and annoying tassle. Fortunately this was not for my audition for the lead role in Gypsy, but was the choice of color for my graduation gown at Collin. Technically, my graduation date will not be until some time in August (due to having to do a final government class), but they allow students to wander for their moment in the spotlight.

The graduation itself was fun. For the first time – in a while, at least – I actually missed my mom, or mum. She's never attended a graduation before, as none of her kids went on to university (to completion at least) and I think she would have enjoyed it. Fortunately, I had Chris and some wonderful friends to keep my mind busy, and I didn't dwell on it too much. Still, as annoying as she can be (like all mums), I still miss her.

After, we headed back to the house, changed, and then headed over to Dave and Busters for an evening of heartburn and games. It was a lot of fun, and I'm glad that my friends were willing to endure the evening even with some of those younger humanoids wandering about.

It was a nice way to end a long day.
