Gavin Newsom – The Perfect Ally

Posted on December 2, 2005 by James

I remember recently seeing a special on one of those “high-channel” shows (a feed from UC Berkley or something), which featured San Francisco Mayor, Gavin Newsom. I was amazed with the passion that this man had for all things being equal, a strong belief he held.  I am now a much stronger admirer of this guy given his decision to withdraw “his support as honorary co-chair of a campaign fundraiser for a Tennessee congressman who voted in favor of an anti-same-sex-marriage bill.”  (GayWired.com)

A quote (from the article) that sums this man up, is:

“A vote for discrimination is not something the Mayor can stand for,” said Jennifer Petrucione, a spokeswoman for Newsom. “Discrimination, whether based on race, sexual orientation or gender, is unacceptable.”
