New Bushism?

Bush gave a speech as he was signing a bill the other day.  He said, “Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we,” Bush said. “They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we.”

Now we get the gist of what he was trying to say, but when Scott McClellan then said that it “just shows even the most straightforward and plain-spoken people misspeak,” one has to wonder what Scott was actually trying to say.

Here's the link to the MSNBC story, and a link to the President's Speech.

Quote from Whitehouse.gov:

Third, this bill meets our commitment to America's Armed Forces by preparing them to meet the threats of tomorrow. Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we. We must never stop thinking about how best to defend our country when we all must always be forward-thinking.
