An end to the long weekend

Posted on September 7, 2004March 3, 2019 by James

Well the weekend is finally coming to a close.  Overall it was a lot of fun, with a lot of relaxation, and the right amount of social interaction.

Last night after the political shock announced by my mother, I didn't get to bed until after 4AM!  I was obviously… what is the word, verklempt (said with a jewish accent).

Tried to snooze in, however the pooches haven't quite figured out how to unlock the back door, and let themselves out.  Nor have they figured out that after it rains (as it did last night), that they are in need of their feet being wiped – something they would forget to do, if they were responsible for their own exit/entry.  After falling back to sleep, I was having a wonderful dream, only to be woken by one of the pooches vocalizing outside the bedroom window.  Loud enough to wake me from my ear-plugged slumber.  I figured it was time to get up.

Today, I spent most of the day working on updating my journal (can you tell??), and tidying up a little, and doing laundry.  It's amazing how little you can achieve when you don't want to do anything.

Tonight we met up with Bobby and Ian for dinner.  We originally had planned to enjoy some Thai food at Samui, however for some reason the restaurant had decided to close for Labor Day (what gives?).  So we decided on Mi Cocina.  It was okay, but it was the company that we enjoyed.  Brian M. joined us (hmmm… this could get confusing with all the Brians), and we stuffed ourselves silly on mediocre TexMex (it was mediocre, as we all had our hearts on Thai).

Quick stop home, then off to Target we we meandered around the store smelling the different shampoos and hair styling products before selecting.

Tomorrow is the launch of the new college mascot. I will be so glad when this is over. I had meant to get so much stuff done this weekend, and decided that I just wasn't going to worry about it.  I think it's my age.

I'm going through a “what have done in my life” moment, and not really sure how to answer that question.  I'm getting ready for a change I think.
