CM Birthday Evening

March 25th, 2007 § 1 comment § permalink

We have just returned from a very pleasant evening celebrating Chris’s birthday. Chris wanted to try Jasper’s Restaurant, which offers Gourmet Backyard Cuisine, and then enjoy a glass of wine at Cru Wine Bar after the meal.

It was a wonderful evening celebrated with our friends: Bobby & Ian, Layton, Brian, Jonas & Corey.

We even had time to explore dodgeball and update our listings while we waited for our table at Cru.

Layton was the only sensible one that bought a camera, so hopefully there will be some pictures from the evening posted shortly.

I was remiss to not post this at the start of the day, but it’s my man’s birthday today, and I have to let the world know that I am wishing him a happy birthday!

Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday dear Chris
Happy birthday to you.

Friday is my friend Craig’s (Outside the Box) birthday. He’s 29 (and some months). Of course he doesn’t look a day over 29, which is good, given that this is the age he is turning :-) Now be careful when you wish him a happy birthday, as he has a dicky ticker (aka Lizzie Birdsworth), so no sneaking up on him.

Anyway, happy birthday Craig – may you have many more 29th birthdays!

If you are looking for that last minute gift for your geeky friends, then visit TresGeek Online. A friend of mine has recently opened this online store, which has a good range of t-shirts and other items which only geeks would understand. Some of them are very funny, subtle and risque. Let it be noted that I understood the naughty ones quite easily!

My good friends Damir & Shane joined the throngs of people who are now enjoying the American dream (house ownership people). Today, they signed on the dotted line for their new home in Little Elm. Congrats Damir & Shane!

Where’s the magic gone?

Saturday was Jonas’s birthday (he is now able to get cheaper auto insurance). For his birthday, he decided we should spend some time at the Magic Time Machine. It had been a while since I had been there (only once before), and I was quickly reminded how much I enjoyed the establishment the last time I was there.

The characters had changed since the last time, and it appears that “new” or younger characters were all the rage on Saturday evening (for example, Harry Potter, Jack Black [pirate], etc.). Our server was “Joe Dirt” who I had never heard of, and then realized why when it was explained to me that this was a David Spade character in a movie. Apart from being a forgettable character, he was actually a pretty good server.

Dinner was good, large portions of food. But by far the most entertaining element of the evening was Spiderman mounting one of the female teacher-friends of Jonas. The photographic evidence of that, along with an incriminating picture of Spiderman’s inner thigh, will be talked about for some time to come.

It was a fun evening with friends. Happy Birthday Jonas!

Don’t you hate it when you log into your blog site and find draft posts still waiting to be published? The following was started a couple of weeks ago, and I was going to just discard it, but I kind of liked what I wrote, and it will remind me of what I did on this weekend. The weekend this post references is October 6-8, 2006.

Toga To Go

August 30th, 2006 § 1 comment § permalink

Saturday night, our intrepid group headed north-west to Denton to attend a toga party hosted by Layton and his roommates. We were a little unsure of what to expect, given that this was a college-party and in Denton, but those fears soon subsided once we had arrived. Naturally, we all looked fabulous!

Photos will be posted once we find our camera (actually, we know where it is … we just have to get it).

Where Am I?
